This US GI Urban Gray Intermediate Sleeping Bag is a cold-weather component of the ACU Digital Modular Sleep System (MSS). This government-issued intermediate sleeping bag is the newer version of the older style Black Intermediate Sleeping Bag that pairs with the Woodland Modular Sleep System and is entirely interoperable – mix and match as you like! It can be used standalone, or in combination with the Patrol Bag, and/or the Bivy Bag.
This Urban Gray Intermediate Sleeping Bag is lightweight, but also durable. The insulation is synthetic, so you can wash the bag in any home washing machine. It includes extra-large zippers you can rip open for fast egress, an adjustable drawstring hood, and a sewn-in chest collar to prevent air drafts.
This sleeping bag is made of tough water-resistant ripstop nylon. It is rated by the U.S. Military to be used in temperatures ranging from 30 to -10 degrees Fahrenheit when used “properly” – we recommend that to mean “in conjunction with other components of the ECWCS." The 2-way snaps allow you to connect the patrol bag and bivy cover.

Mission Fit Kit uses a simple grading system for its inventory:
New Items– These are, as you might have guessed, new! They are manufactured by our trusted network of suppliers and are straight from the factory to our warehouse.
NOS – New Old Stock- These items were purchased by a military but never issued to troops and subsequently sold off to the public, due to the item being replaced or overstock. These may or may not have their original packaging, but are essentially brand new, with no signs of wear.
Grade 1– Items were issued, but it must have been to a POG (Person Other than Grunt), or a recruit who didn’t make it past the barracks before quitting. They show very little signs of wear, though they may have some imperfections. The items are serviceable as sold, with no need for repairs.
Grade 2– Items were issued, maybe to a grunt, or someone who has noticeably used them. They may need some slight but quick and inexpensive repairs, such as seam-sealing, using a patch kit for a pinhole leak in an air mattress, or sewing a few stitches on a garment. There are no significant repairs that someone with a bit of skill cannot perform. The cost of the items is adjusted in consequence, and doing these repairs yourself can help you adapt your kit list to incorporate some items you could use for field repairs. Mission Fit Kit will not sell items below a Grade 2 condition. We just won’t.
