General Information
What condition are the items in?
Mission Fit Kit Grading System
Mission Fit Kit uses a straightforward grading system to categorize our inventory:
New Items
These are, as you might have guessed, new! Manufactured by our trusted network of suppliers and sent straight from the factory to our warehouse.
NOS – New Old Stock
These items were purchased by a military but never issued to troops. Eventually sold off to the public due to being replaced or overstocked. They may or may not have their original packaging, but are essentially brand new, with no signs of wear.
Grade 1
Issued, but barely used—maybe to a POG (Person Other than Grunt) or a recruit who didn’t make it past the barracks. These show minimal signs of wear and are ready to go, no repairs needed. You might find some small imperfections, but nothing that impacts functionality.
Grade 2
Used, possibly by a grunt who actually saw the field. These items may show noticeable signs of wear and could require minor repairs: seam-sealing, patching a pinhole, or a few stitches. All repairs are quick, inexpensive, and well within reach for anyone with basic skills. Prices are adjusted accordingly, giving you the option to fix up your gear and tailor your kit.
Note: Mission Fit Kit does not sell anything below Grade 2. We just won’t.

In certain cases, yes. Please submit a request through the Contact Us page if you have a specific requirement, and we will work with our network of partners to see what we can do.

New items are generally restocked in 4-6 weeks. Should you have a specific item you want, please contact us.
Shipping and Delivery
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we offer international shipping to most countries. Please check our shipping options at checkout for more information on countries we ship to and associated costs.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Please allow 2-4 days for processing time. We are a veteran-owned small business, doing our utmost to make your shopping experience a great one. Shipping times vary depending on your location. Canadian domestic orders usually take 3-7 business days, while international orders can take 10-20 business days.
How can I track my order?
Once your order is shipped, you will receive a tracking number via email. You can use this number to track your order through the shipping carrier’s website.
Will I have to pay duties or tariffs?
Mission Fit Kit cannot advise on whether or not you’ll have to pay duties or tariffs. It is common for some form of levy to be imposed when importing from another country. MFK ships from Canada, please inform yourself with the appropriate customs authorities in your country of residence. For our American customers: almost all of the HS codes under which our items are classified are supposed to be duty exempt under the USMCA agreement. However, recent changes in government policy may have added 25% tariffs to the price of our items when being imported into the United States of America. Keep in mind though, that our items are priced based on costs assumed in Canadian dollars. With the currency exchange, you’ll notice that our items are still competitively priced when shopping in US dollars, tariffs or no tariffs.
Returns and Refunds
What is your return policy?
We offer a 10-day return policy on most items. Items must be returned in their original condition. Please contact our customer service for a return authorization. Items will be returned at the client’s expense. We are happy to assist in reducing this cost by leveraging our shipping network and rates. Our carriers can pick the item up at your door.
How can I request a refund?
To request a refund, please contact our customer service team with your order number and reason for the return. Refunds will be processed once the returned item is received and inspected.
Product Information
Why are your products tagged with “lifestyle” labels?
MFK understands that there are a variety of mission sets for which you may be shopping. We endeavor to provide our clients with fast access to find the products they are looking for, based on the adventure that awaits them. Whether it’s bushcraft, MILSIM (which includes airsoft, paintball, reenactment, etc.), hunting, preparedness, camping or looking for vintage, useable collection pieces for all of the above, you can find what you’re looking for with a simple filter.
Can you provide more information about specific products?
Yes, detailed product descriptions are available on our website. If you need more information, feel free to contact our customer support team.
How does military sizing work?
Most of our surplus products are either Canadian or US military at the moment. Canadian military items have a four digit number for a size. A jacket labeled as “7044” is designed for someone 70 inches tall, with a 44 size chest (like when you go buy a suit jacket). US sizes come in the traditional Small, Medium, Large, XL, XXL – and each of those sizes comes in a Short, Regular or Long variety. If it helps, the Sarge is 6’2 and weighs 180lbs, and fits perfectly into a Medium Long for US jackets and pants across the board.
Are your products authentic military surplus?
All our products advertised as surplus are genuine military issue, sourced from trusted suppliers.

Product Care
General Care
The beauty about military kit is that it generally requires very little care. Do your research on these items, we are simply pointing out some care instructions we’ve looked into, and some we’ve learned the hard way (the ground sheet basically flaked apart in the washer, the wife was NOT happy).
Sleeping bags
It’s best to store your sleeping bags outside of the compression sack. Prolonged storage in the compression sack (or “valise”) can compress the insulation and prevent it from lofting when you use it. Store them in a large laundry bag instead. Canadian sleeping bags (olive green): since these are made to survive arctic conditions, they are goose down filled. As such, DO NOT put these sleeping bags in a top-loading washing machine with an agitator, as this will likely damage seams, or cause the down filling to clump. You can use a front-loading washing machine on gentle cycle, with detergent made for down. Tumble dry on low heat, let your sleeping bag air before storing. US sleeping bags (Tennier Industries): these are filled with synthetic insulation and can be washed on gentle cycle in any machine. Tumble dry low.
Water canteens and thermal flasks
Don’t leave fluids in your canteens and thermal flasks for prolonged periods. Use a bottle brush to clean the inside, with dish soap and hot water.
Clothing
Combat clothing can be machine washed and dried.
Canadian ranger blankets
Do not put Canadian ranger blankets in the dryer. Let them air dry. There is a waterproofing material inside that will deteriorate when exposed to high heat.
Tarps and ground sheets
Do not wash old tarps and ground sheets in the washer. Hand wash with warm water and mild soap, air dry.
